If you are looking for some more information on how you can level mining then this article will give you some pointers and the best places to go to do this.
Before we begin Mining is my favourite profession in WOW, sure it does not have all the fun of engineering and it is probably the easiest profession to get started with but this is why I love it.
You can collect the ore as you are questing and then once you have enough stacks you can sell in the Auction house.
The most profitable way to sell the stacks is not to smelt them as then they can be used for all professions.
Ok, here is a guide you can follow to make gold:
Levels 1 To 65:
When you start you will be mining Copper Ore and for this guide I will use the Horde side and I will do an Alliance one another time.
Just start off in Durotar and run around the outside of the map and you will find copper everywhere here.
This should be easy and when you have 30 copper you can go and learn Mining Journeyman and that will give you the ability to mine Tin Ore and Silver Ore which will mean bigger profits.
Just remember before you start that you will need to be level 65 in mining and this area will take you through to 125.
Levels 65-125
You need to head over to the Hillsbard Foothills and you will be able to farm loads of Tin.
You will see the white part of the map – just run around the outside of the white part in a circle and you will get loads of Silver and Tin.
Keep going until you get to 125 in Mining and then you will need to learn Mining Expert.
Again I am not bothering with smelting as our focus is on making money but if you want to you can include this.
Levels 125-175
Next up we have Iron Ore and Gold Ore and you should heads over to the Western Plaguelands for this.
There is a middle part of the map and you just need to run around the outside of this and you will get loads of Iron and Gold.
Levels 175-230
You will be farming Mithril Ore and Truesilver Ore this time and you need to head over to Felwood for this.
The area for Felwood is quite long and thing so just start at the top and run around the outside of the map and you will find loads of ore to mine!
Remember you need to visit your mining trainer at 225.
